I just upgraded my MacBook Air to Mountain Lion (I know, but better late than never). Unfortunately, my D-Link USB Ethernet adapter (I have 2 of them) that worked fine on Lion is not recognized on ML. I've checked the D-Link site for updated drivers, and they don't even have a driver for my Rev C hardware. Calling D-Link support costs more than buying a new adapter. Searching Apple support turns up no information, and a general web search only returns results that predate ML.
Note for Windows 10 users: Drivers for the USB2-E100 and USB2-OTGE100 are pre-installed in Windows 10, and there is no need to download drivers here. Just plug in your adapter, wait a moment while the driver is set up, then access the network. Unfortunately, this driver does not help me with DUB-E100 rev C on 10.9.3 - installed KEXT just does not load and USB Etehrnet does not visible in the system preferences. Also I've tried USB to Ethernet driver from asix.com.tx for AX88772x (Mac driver for ax8817x is absent there) chips - no luck - device does not work.
The D-Link® DUB-E100 is a high-speed USB 2.0 Fast Ethernet adapter for Windows/MAC/Linux desktop and notebook PCs. This adapter is designed to simply plug into an available USB port on your computer to connect you to a Fast Ethernet network without using a PCI or CardBus slot to add LAN connectivity.
I would be eternally* grateful if someone could provide advice on where I might find a compatible driver. While I could probably write one, overall my fallback is to simply buy an Apple adapter.
*Perhaps not eternally, but for a day at least 🙂

If you wish to pre-install drivers before your adapter arrives, just download and run the utility from the link below:
After downloading, simply double-click on the .exe file to begin installation. You will receive a confirmation that the process has begun, and another upon successful completion- this should take less than a minute on most systems.
Windows 8, 8.1, and 10
Drivers are built-in. The adapter will be automatically recognized and installed on most systems.
Note: ARM-based Windows 8/8.1 tablets such as the Microsoft Surface RT do not have drivers for the ASIX 88772 built in. ASIX does not provide a Surface RT compatible driver for installation.
Windows 7, Vista, XP
Windows 7, Vista, and XP will automatically install drivers from Windows Update if connected to the Internet. For manual installation, just download, save, and run the file below:

OS X versions 10.6 – 10.13 have been tested to work well using Apple’s in-box drivers. Installing drivers should NOT be necessary, and is not recommended for recent versions of OS X. In case the in-box drivers do not work, we have provided the following drivers below:
To install the ASIX 88772 driver on OS 10.5 through 10.14.x, download the driver from the link below:

*For Mac OS X 10.5 – 10.14.x
*Note: macOS 10.13-10.14.x requires users to manually approve 3rd party extensions (drivers). Step-by-step instructions for doing so can be found in our blog post hereAndroid and Linux
Android versions 4.0 and later have the driver built-in to builds from Google, although individual Android device manufacturers sometimes disable this support. Whether driver is left enabled is up to each device maker. For example, we’ve found that all ASUS Android tablets (TF200, TF300, TF700, etc) tested to date have support for the driver, however none of the Samsung (Note, Note2, Tab, Tab2) devices we’ve tested had driver support.
Advanced users running rooted devices or custom ROMS like Cyanogen mod aren’t supported by Plugable, however may be able to obtain community support from sites like XDA developers.
